Kristopher Kubicki

Kristopher Kubicki founded DailyTech on 1 January 2005. He came to the publication from AnandTech, where he had worked as an editor, and carried across the habit that defined DailyTech's early years: short, fast, specific news posts about the parts and roadmaps enthusiasts actually bought, published several times a day rather than held for a weekly feature slot.

He also made an editorial decision that shaped the site more than any single story. Instead of running separate forums, DailyTech put the discussion directly under each article, with reader moderation on individual posts - a structure he described as borrowed from Slashdot. For most of the site's life the comment thread was as much the publication as the article above it.

As editor-in-chief he ran DailyTech's reporting on the business of technology publishing itself, including its 2007 investigation into undisclosed paid coverage across hardware sites, which was picked up and discussed by other outlets in the field at the time. That work set the standard the archive is judged by, and the standard this site is held to now: name the mechanism, show the evidence, and say who paid for what.

Articles published under his byline between 2005 and 2010 remain credited to him.
